Amarnath Yatra: Preparations To Start Helicopter Service From Srinagar This Time
Amarnath Yatra is going to get air services from Srinagar International Airport to base camp Baltal in 2021. It has been suggested to start helicopter service from Srinagar to Baltal amidst travel preparations. This will be a great facility for needy travelers. Till now helicopter service is provided from Baltal (Nilgrath) to Panjtarni and Pahalgam to Panjtarni only.
On Wednesday, the divisional commissioners of both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions met and issued directions regarding the travel preparations. Jammu. For the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2021, the state administration will start preparing with the goal of reaching six lakh Shiva devotees in the yatra. For this, in the tenth high level meeting of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board on Sunday, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam issued guidelines to the officials concerned.

Delhi-Katra Train To Resume Today
The Northern Railway authorities announced that the elite 22439/40 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat express train would commence its run from January 1, 2021. The train operates on all days of the week except Tuesday, with three stoppages at Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana and Jammu Tawi.
Further, the railway officials said due to farmers’ agitation and partial blockade on rail tracks at some places in Punjab, one train would remain cancelled, while some others would be short-terminated, short-originated and diverted.

The cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir's Katra on Sunday received the season's first snowfall, much to the cheer of tourists thronging the region. The shrine atop the Trikuta hills had reopened on August 16 after a gap of nearly five months due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

After a hiatus, Munnar is witnessing heavy tourist inflow with most hotels and resorts booked to capacity.
The Christmas/ New Year season, aided by a drop in mercury level, is attracting tourists.
An official at the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) in Munnar says there is a spurt in tourist inflow from December 20. Normally, Munnar witnesses a high turnout from December 20 to January 5.
Most hotels and resorts have been fully booked from December 25 to 27. The number of daytime tourists is also on the rise. These are positive trends indicative of normalization of tourism activities at the hill station, he says.
